R&B icon, James Ingram, has passed away at the age of 66, after his long battle with a form of brain cancer.

The news broke when actress, Debbie Allen, posted to her Instagram account saying, “”I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir. He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.”
Ingram was known for his musical talent over the decades sharing the spotlight with artistes like Quincy Jones, Michael McDonald, Patti Austin, Anita Baker and even co-wrote Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T” for the “Thriller” album.
James will be remembered by the legacy he left behind, of being a two-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, as well as an ingenious artiste in the R&B community.
