After being removed from Disney and Marvel Studios last year, filmmaker and director, James Gunn, has returned to direct another sequel, “Guardians of The Galaxy 3”.
The 52 year-old was spotted at an airport by TMZ, who captured him saying, “I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months. I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be.”
He continued to thank Disney by saying, “I deeply appreciate Disney’s decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all.”
Sources say that the decision to rehire Gunn was due to “deliberations and meetings” between James and Walt Disney Studios’ chairman Alan Horn. This also comes after Gunn’s public apology and how he took responsibility for his social media actions.
If you recall, the director was fired due to a series of jokes he had tweeted about in the past. Disney has made the decision later that year despite the petition signed by several of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” cast.
However, their decision did not leave him out of a job, as he was later picked up to direct the sequel “Suicide Squad 2”, which he must finish before starting “GotG3”.
I guess when you are talented, there is nothing you can’t get.
