The slots for democratic candidates for the U.S Presidential election are quickly overflowing, but not before “Creepy”.. I mean Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden announces that he too is joining the race to be the democratic candidate…next week.
According to ‘the Atlantic’, “The former vice president will make his candidacy official with a video announcement next Wednesday.” They also added that the announcement came from people who are allegedly “familiar” with the discussions surrounding his possible candidacy. This comes after much speculation from the public whether or not he will run, as he hadn’t made a decision on the matter for over 2 years.
This will be Biden’s third run for the democratic presidential candidate after his initial run in 1988 and again in 2008. He, however, sat out the last major election due to the his emotional wellbeing after his son passed away. “Nobody has a right to seek that office unless they’re willing to give it 110% of who they are.” he said.
In addition to this, there was speculation about whether or not he would be running this year. This was mainly due to the backlash he received only a few weeks ago for inappropriately touching two women. Still, he did issue an apology and has surprisingly regained the trust of the people.
He is currently ahead in the polls among democratic candidates, however many are skeptical about whether he should run the country at his age, 76 years-old.
And with Vice President Joe Biden being one of the front runners, alongside Senator Bernie Sanders, this will definitely be one to watch. He is also joined by Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Cory Booker and several others in the race for the democratic candidacy.
