One of our favourite judges has announced earlier today that this is his final season on the Voice. The Maroon 5 singer’s decision was made public on Friday by host Carson Daly.

After 16 seasons, it is almost unnatural to think of The Voice without Adam, as he was one of the original coaches who helped launch of the show. Adam has won the competition 3 times and inspired many of the artistes with whom he worked very closely.

Levine’s replacement has already been announced and it is non other than Gwen Stefani who is no stranger to the show. Gwen was a judge on seasons 7,9 and 12. She now sits on Adam’s chair alongside the other judges; Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.

The news comes as a shock to fans since Adam had already been announced as a judge for the upcoming season. We guess somewhere along the lines something went wrong because…well…he is leaving 🤷🏽‍♀️

What is quite interesting however, is the fact that only a couple days ago, there was a poll which asked if the Levine had ran his course on the show. According to reports, TVLine was responsible for the poll and to our surprise, 60 percent agreed that they have had enough of Adam. What?? Who said that? 🙄

Adam has penned a heartfelt note to his Instagram thanking his cohosts and Voice family for the experience and all the love. Adam said to the fans,

“…there’s literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING.”

Who knows, did Adam see this poll and decide to give the people what they want? We will surely miss you Adam. Maybe you can take a season or 2 off and grace us with your soothing voice in season 19? Please?
