Today is a big day for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their baby Archie, but it seems like there will be some disappointments. Tennis star and Meghan’s close friend Serena Williams, will not be present to celebrate the milestone.

In a recent interview, Serena was asked if she was going to be attending the christening and if she’ll be named a godparent. To our surprise, the tennis star replied,
“No, I’m working on Saturday, but yeah, she understands work.” ☹
Unfortunately, baby Archie’s christening is clashing with Wimbledon, where Serena is scheduled to play. Earlier this week we reported that the Duchess took a break from her maternity leave to attend a tennis match, at Wimbledon, to support Serena.
However, Serena is not the only person missing baby Archie’s big day as the Queen also has reported that she had made previous plans with Prince Philip.

The show must go on though, and Meghan and Harry are making sure nothing steals the spotlight on Archie’s first big milestone. The couple plans to keep the ceremony very private, with photographs to be taken by their personal photographer, Chris Allerton.

We are sure both the Duchess and tennis superstar friend, Serena Williams are both disappointed that Serena will not be able to attend, but as she said, Meghan understands work. We can’t wait to learn who the godparents are though!
