Blue Ivy Receives First Writing Credit, at 7

There aren’t many seven year olds who can boast of having writing credits especially on the song track for Disney’s Lion King Live Action remake or costarring in their own music videos. Blue Ivy Carter though, is no regular seven year old. Her parents Jayz and Beyoncé are teaching her that from early.

The first daughter of the musically royal couple opens and ends track 15 of the album titled, “The Lion King: The Gift,” which was released on Friday.

“Brown Skin Girl” which also features WizKid and SAINt JHN is four minutes long and praises brown skinned girls.

“Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls.The best thing in the world, never trade you for anybody else.”

Since its release, celebrities and fans have been on Twitter giving high praises of the song’s inspiring message. It encourages people to love their own skin and has left fans on the verge of tears… us included 🤫

Lupita Nyong’o posted a video to her Instagram of her singing along to the song which shows how happy she felt to hear her name mentioned in the song. Naomi Campbell and Kelly’s names are also in there.

“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Queen Bey said in an interview. “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.”

Blue Ivy also co-stars in her mother’s music video for “Spirit” which is also part of the soundtrack. From red carpets, to music videos, to writing credits, Blue Ivy is definitely a young Queen.
