You may know Todd Chrisley and wife Julie Chrisley from their show,”Chrisley Knows Best.” Well it turns out that “Christley May Not Know Best” afterall. The couple was indicted for 12 counts of bank fraud, tax evasion, including falsifying financial documents to obtain million dollar loans.

The Chrisleys, along with their Roswell, Georgia accountant, Peter Tarantino were indicted last evening in Georgia. It turns out the Todd and Julie, allegedly, have been maintaining their lavish lifestyle based on fake wealth. According to court documents, in the state of Georgia, they have allegedly been acquiring multimillion dollar loans by creating large bank balances that simply don’t exist. For several years, (as far back a 2007), they have been magnifying their wealth to get wealthy.
Sadly, if found guilty, (and the evidence against them is strong), they can face up to 30 years in prison for defrauding the United States Government. Apparently, they have been able to get a hold of Todd’s email, which produced all the receipts with him insisting that his accountant “find a way to get him the loan, or he will find a crooked accountant who will”.This is a very serious matter.
We all know Todd Chrisley and his family from their hit show, “Chrisley Knows Best” on USA network. He is a humorous, but proud man. One would easily get the impression, based on their lifestyle, that they are wealthy. In actual fact he has had outstanding tax bills for the IRS since 2009. We all know that once you owe th IRS, they’re coming for you.
For those of you who live in North Georgia, you would know that there have been whispers and features in the local news about Chrisley’s tax evasion for some time. He has not been paying his taxes and he is filing late. A definite red flag. In spite of this, he has been living the lifestyle of a man who has lots of money.
Todd Chrisley is denying it all. He did his own damage control as soon as he discovered he was about to be indicted. He took to Instagram in an attempt to clear his name. Well, Instagram is not the court of law. He claims that they have been set up be a disgruntled employee. I guess that “disgruntled employee” made him not pay his taxes and made up false bank accounts in his name and sent out all those emails.
We will just have to wait and see what happens, but I guess the Chrisleys are finding out that the saying, “More money, more problems” is quite true.
Shortly after this announcement, Todd posted that a new season of their reality show will air soon in USA network. I wonder if we will see the “true reality” of his situation with the law?
