Taylor lost ownership of her early albums in June of this year when Scooter Braun purchased her former label, Big Machine, for $300 million.

Scooter’s purchase became a controversy as Swift claimed that she found out about it online. The singer and Braun had a bit of an online feud as Swift claimed she faced “incessant, manipulative bullying… for years,” from Braun. Justin Bieber came to Scooter’s defense while Kelly Clarkson and others came to Taylor’s.

In fact, it was Clarkson who suggested to Swift that she should record her classics, with just some new art work. She also vowed to purchase all of the re-released work.

“@taylorswift13 just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions,” Clarkson tweeted at the time. “I’d buy all of the new versions just to prove a point.

Swift’s full interview with CBS Sunday Morning will air Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. Will you be tuning in?
