Country singer Kylie Rae Harris is dead.
Harris died in a vehicular accident off Highway 522 in northern New Mexico, last evening. She was 30 years old.
📷 Billboard TwitterHarris’s publicist issued a statement,“We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night, We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you.”Harris was known for her song “Twenty Years From Now”, which she wrote for her 6 year old daughter. The words of the song brings so much sadness at this time, as the song is a prayer to God hoping to be around to see her baby girl grown up “Twenty Years From Now. “
“You deserve nothing less than happiness/ And so do I/ Twenty years from now/ My prayer is that somehow/ You’ll forgive all my mistakes and be proud of the choice I made/ God I hope I’m still around/ Twenty years from now.”
This is a very sad time for her family, particularly her young daughter.
Harris lost her dad to cancer and her song was a prayer to God, as she wanted to see her kids grow old. This is what she told Billboard,
“It scared me thinking that it was totally possible I could be gone before my daughter reaches that point. I want to meet my kid’s kids. Getting to the age your parents were when you were a child brings a whole lot of perspective.” RIP Kylie Rae Harris 🙏🏽
