Today’s the day that many have been waiting on as we all learned Felicity Huffman’s punishment for her role in the College Admissions scandal.

The judge, a few minutes ago, has sentenced the 56 year old actress to 14 days behind bars, together with a $30,000 fine.

Huffman arrived at the Boston federal court alongside her husband William H Macy and three of her siblings for the sentencing hearing.

She is the first of 33 parents to be sentenced for her involvement in the scandal. The other parents have been looking forward to her sentencing, as it may have given them an idea as to how their own trials will go.

Huffman’s offence was the lightest of the lot so now that she has to face jail time, the other parents can start preparing.

The US attorney assigned to Huffman’s case had requested that she faces one month in prison for her crime while her defense team had asked that she be put on one year probation, 250 hours of community service, and a $20,000 fine.

Prosecutors on her case have higlighted though, that probation at her massive California compound would not serve as punishment.

“The punishment she proposes, is no punishment at all,’ declared Rosen, assistant US attorney.

‘Punishment is doing something they don’t want to do, not something she already does and enjoys.’

As you know, this entire debacle becasm public knowledge earlier this year when Huffman and fellow actress Lori Loughlin were accused of paying to have their daughters admitted into college.

Huffman entered a guilty plea deal which was critical in her fate. Lori on the other hand, chose to refuse the plea deal and pleaded not guilty.

Loughlin is still in the pre trial phase and may end up facing serious jail time, along with her husband Mossimo Giannuli.

We’ll just have to see how this one unfolds.
