I Am Not Into New Years Resolutions ‼️

Don’t get me wrong. It is ok to set intentions and focus on continuous improvement. It is perfectly fine to set goals. However, to believe that your greatest achievements can be attained in a year is unrealistic. You are setting yourself up for failure.

It takes time for real moves to be made.
The goals I met this year, I have been working on them for over 10 years. Nothing happens overnight. So many people get caught up in wanting their dreams to come through overnight. Dreams are not resolutions. We have to work hard at our goals and dreams. In most cases, our dreams take years to come through. Anything worth having takes time. In 2024, I want to experience happiness every single day. I have also been working on and redefining my happiness for several years. I cannot find it all in a calendar year.

As I reflect on the past year, I am happy with my progress. I had difficult moments after I lost my dear aunt at the start of the year and my father at the end. My pain and delays do not make me a failure. It does not define me. In fact, those experiences made me stronger. So many of us long for a new year to medicate the pain of the current year. One thing I learned this year is that our past pain follows us if we don’t handle our trauma in the present. We can run from emotional pain, but we can’t hide from it. A new year does not solve problems. That requires a new attitude.

I love taking photos whenever I travel or experience a magical moment. When I look at all my photos for 2023, I realize that I had an amazing year. I had more great experiences and more magical moments with my family and friends than bad ones. The good outweighed the bad. Life will always have its ups and downs. I had my downs for 2023, but my ups were far better, and for that, I am grateful.
I am still breathing, and I am still here. I have the life I prayed and worked hard for. God will never tell us how He will package our blessings. One thing for sure is that He will never take anything from us without giving us better. Thank you, 2023. I AM THANKFUL FOR IT ALL.🙏🏽

One Love
