This beauty argument has been ongoing. When we started our research on this topic, we were taken aback to discover that many people on the web still saw beauty through skin color and race. As I did a search for the term “beautiful women,” I was saddened that the search results produced light skin and caucasian women only. We agree that beauty is very subjective. However, it is not owned by a particular race. I am blessed to be born in a country that is populated by the most beautiful women of all races. I have also visited other countries across the continents. I am very impressed by the natural beauty of women from South Africa, India, Ethiopia, Australia, Columbia, Trinidad and Tobago, and the list goes on.
Despite the striking beauty I have seen among women in these countries, I still believe that per capita, the Caribbean and Latin America have the most beautiful women in the world when it comes to external beauty. The English speaking Caribbean, in particular, is blessed with women with natural beauty from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Caribbean people are very afraid of “the knife.” As such, what you see with these women is what you get. Latin American women, on the other hand, are huge fans of cosmetic surgery. In many cases, they are “touched up.”
More importantly, Caribbean and Latin American women are blessed with that warm personality that enhances their external beauty. Beauty is something that can vanish with the wrong personality. For this reason, I will give the most beautiful award to the region with the women with natural beauty and the warmest personalities.
For too long, women of color have been traumatized by the idea that beauty is about light skin, long hair, straight nose, and the list goes on. Some women actually look best full-bodied, with short hair, thick lips, and wide hips. It is amusing to me that surgeons are being paid a lot of money these days to perform surgical procedures to enlarge the butts, hips, and inject the lips of many women. If we are to have an honest discussion about these very expensive features/ procedures, we can acknowledge that these are physical features that most black and some brown women do not have to pay for. The natural curves and features of black and African women are in high demand. Nevertheless, these women are still not being identified from our research as being among the most beautiful in the world. This is very sad.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that black and brown women are the only beautiful women in the world. I am saying that beauty can be found in all races and skin color. The skin palette should not matter. What matters is understanding that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created the box of crayons called women. It always amazes me when I travel around the world and see all versions of women who are simply beautiful. I am also blessed to have the most beautiful girlfriends of all races and skin color. I urge all women from every race to be proud of your natural beauty. There is no standard for beauty, no race, no color, just beauty.
