My favorite season of the year is spring, followed by summer. Spring symbolizes the end of winter and a rebirth. It is also time for me to do my gardening and redecorating. My favorite plants like the hydrangeas start blooming onces again. As much as I am not a huge fan of the winter season, I absolutely love the transformation that occurs after winter with the grass and the trees. It is magical to see the trees change the color of their leaves, shed their leaves, and then return to full bloom. For me, spring represents a fresh start, growth, and rejuvenation.

The end of March and April are the months I spend a lot of time and money at my local plant stores in Georgia. Replacing broken pots from the winter freeze, buying top soil, and new plants. I have learned to spend more of my money on perennials, evergreens, and succulents. Then I nicely accentuate those with the star of my garden, any plant that gives me flowers🌻.

Here are some of the things I am looking forward to doing the most in spring:
- Planting and spending time updating my garden. I love landscaping. (I am the landscaper in the family, and my hubby is the agronomist.)
- Updating the decor of my powder room, changing my front door wreath and the entrance mat.
- I love bringing our back patio back to life with new plants and pots and a proper power wash from all that pollen and grime from the winter.
- More than anything, I love updating my wardrobe. I am such a fashionista. After wearing heavy winter coats and lots of jackets, I am usually in a hurry to add fun colors and lighter clothing to my wardrobe. Spring is the time of the year I capitalise on the amazing deals on my favorite clothing websites.
- Now that the weather is changing, I can enjoy more outdoor exercises and activities. Daily walks and regular outdoor workouts are a must.
- I can’t wait to set up my backyard to host friends and family for drinks, brunches, dinners, etc.
- For my kids and their friends, Spring represents “Spring break. ” Time to have some fun and attend parties.
The Downside of Spring
The downside of this time of year, of course, is the allergies caused by the massive amounts of pollen in the air from those beautiful plants we love to see. My advice to you is to stock up in advance on those allergy medication that works for you and your family. Take them in advance. This reduces the symptoms. Once you have spent a lot of time outdoors, you may want to consider taking a shower and changing your clothing as soon as you get inside your home to reduce the amount of pollen you bring into your home. Cleaning your home regularly , changing your filters, and using humidifiers are a must.

Despite the inconvenience of the pollen and the allergies, I would rather deal with this inconvenience any day over freezing. I welcome the rebirth. I enjoy sitting in my backyard and enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and admiring my garden. There is just something about spring that makes my mind sharper and my mood better. Maybe it is all the bright flowers, the fun clothing and cool weather. Whatever it is, it makes me happy, and I hope it does the same for you.
