Hey Friends ❤️
Here is your Daily Power Note From Basia.
Your feelings matter.
They deserve to be acknowledged.
They deserve to be understood.
But they do not have to make every decision for you.
That is an important lesson.
Because when we are hurt, angry, afraid, disappointed, or overwhelmed, those emotions can feel extremely convincing.
Fear can tell you to run.
Anger can tell you to react.
Hurt can tell you to shut down.
Disappointment can tell you to give up.
Anxiety can tell you something terrible is about to happen.
But just because an emotion is loud does not mean it is wise.
Sometimes your emotions are giving you useful information.
They may be telling you that something feels unsafe.
That a boundary has been crossed.
That you are exhausted.
That you need rest.
That you are disappointed.
That you are afraid of losing something.
That you care deeply.
That information matters.
But information still needs interpretation.
You can say:
“I feel angry.”
Without immediately sending the message.
You can say:
“I feel afraid.”
Without immediately walking away.
You can say:
“I feel hurt.”
Without immediately deciding the relationship is over.
You can say:
“I feel anxious.”
Without assuming the worst-case scenario is true.
This is where the pause becomes powerful.
A pause gives wisdom enough time to catch up with emotion.
It gives you space to ask:
“What exactly am I feeling?”
“What triggered this?”
“What do I know for sure?”
“What response will I still respect tomorrow?”
That last question can save you from a lot of unnecessary regret.
Because reacting may give you immediate relief.
Responding with wisdom can protect your future.
And there is a difference.
A reaction is often fast.
A response is considered.
A reaction says:
“I need to do something right now.”
Wisdom says:
“I need to understand what is happening before I decide what to do.”
This does not mean suppressing your emotions.
It does not mean pretending everything is fine.
It means giving your feelings a seat at the table without making them the CEO.
TODAY’S POWER MOVE
The next time you feel a strong emotion today, do not immediately act on it.
Name it first.
“I feel angry.”
“I feel afraid.”
“I feel rejected.”
Then ask:
“What is this feeling trying to tell me?”
After that, ask:
“What would wisdom tell me to do next?”
Give yourself enough time for those two answers to be different.
TODAY’S POWER LINE
Your emotions are information, not instructions. Feel them, understand them, then choose your response with wisdom.
You are allowed to feel deeply.
You are also allowed to respond carefully.

P.S. A strong emotion may deserve your attention, but it does not automatically deserve control of your next move.
