Your Body Is Listening to How You Speak About It

Hey Friends ❤️

Here is your Daily Power Note From Basia.

We spend a lot of time talking about mindset.

But I think one area we often overlook is the way we speak about our bodies.

We look in the mirror and criticize.

Our age.

Our weight.

Our skin.

Our shape.

Our scars.

Our limitations.

And sometimes we say things to ourselves that we would never say to another person.

But your body is listening.

It hears the rejection.

It hears the frustration.

It hears every time you describe yourself as too old, too heavy, too tired, too imperfect, or no longer enough.

And over time, that kind of language can create an internal environment of shame.

I want you to consider a different perspective.

Your body has carried you through every season of your life.

Through stress.

Through heartbreak.

Through pregnancy or illness.

Through long workdays.

Through sleepless nights.

Through grief.

Through celebration.

Through aging.

Through healing.

Through every version of you.

That deserves respect.

You do not have to love every single thing you see in the mirror every day.

You do not have to pretend you never want to change something.

You can want to become healthier.

Stronger.

More rested.

More fit.

More energized.

But growth and self-rejection are not the same thing.

You can improve something without insulting it.

You can care for your body without punishing it.

You can age without constantly mourning who you used to be.

You can look different and still be worthy of kindness.

And I think that matters.

Because sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is stop treating your body like an enemy.

Speak to it with gratitude.

Feed it well.

Rest it.

Move it.

Protect it.

Listen when it tells you it is tired.

Pay attention when it needs care.

Your body is not a decoration.

It is the home you live in.

TODAY’S POWER MOVE

The next time you catch yourself criticizing your body, pause.

Replace the criticism with gratitude.

Instead of:

“I hate how I look.”

Try:

“My body has carried me through a lot, and I am learning to care for it better.”

Instead of:

“I’m getting old.”

Try:

“I am grateful to have lived long enough to keep becoming.”

Instead of focusing only on appearance, ask:

“What has my body done for me?”

Write down three answers.
