Hey Friends ❤️
Here is your Daily Power Note From Basia.
Some of us are very comfortable giving.
We give our time.
Our energy.
Our advice.
Our money.
Our love.
Our support.
And we often do it generously.
But receiving?
That can feel very different.
Sometimes when someone does something kind for us, we immediately start thinking:
“How do I pay them back?”
They buy us lunch, and we feel like we owe them lunch next time.
They give us a gift, and we start planning what gift we should buy in return.
They compliment us, and we rush to compliment them back.
They help us, and instead of simply appreciating it, we start keeping score.
But generosity is not supposed to feel like debt.
Receiving does not make you indebted.
It makes you human.
It allows someone else to experience the blessing of giving.
That was an important lesson for me.
For a long time, giving came naturally.
Receiving did not.
And sometimes the discomfort around receiving is connected to what we learned earlier in life.
Maybe we learned that we had to earn everything.
Maybe help always came with conditions.
Maybe gifts were attached to achievement.
Maybe we became so independent that receiving support started to feel like weakness.
But healthy receiving is not weakness.
It is trust.
It is openness.
It is allowing someone to say:
“I want to do this for you.”
And believing them.
You do not have to turn every act of love into a transaction.
Relationships should not feel like accounting.
You do not need an emotional spreadsheet keeping track of who called first, who paid last time, who gave more, or who owes what.
Of course, healthy relationships should have reciprocity.
But reciprocity does not mean exact repayment.
It means there is a natural flow of care.
Sometimes you give more.
Sometimes someone else does.
Sometimes you are the strong one.
Sometimes you are the one who needs support.
Sometimes you bless.
Sometimes you allow yourself to be blessed.
That is balance.
And when we constantly reject help or rush to repay everything immediately, we may actually be denying other people the joy of giving to us.
Think about how good it feels when you do something kind for someone you love.
Why would you assume they do not feel the same way when they give to you?
TODAY’S POWER MOVE
The next time someone gives you a compliment, helps you, pays for something, or does something thoughtful for you, resist the urge to immediately repay it.
Just say:
“Thank you. I really appreciate that.”
And let that be enough.
Notice how receiving makes you feel.
If guilt appears, ask yourself:
“Why do I believe kindness has to create debt?”
Then remind yourself:
“I am allowed to receive love without immediately earning it back.”
TODAY’S POWER LINE
Learn to receive without keeping score. Generosity is not debt, and allowing yourself to receive is part of a healthy, abundant life.
Give freely.
Receive graciously.
And let love move in both directions.

P.S. Sometimes saying “thank you” is the only repayment a genuine gift ever asked for.
