Hey Friends ❤️
Here is your Daily Power Note From Basia.
Missing someone can be confusing.
Because when you miss a person, your mind has a way of replaying the good moments.
The laughter.
The conversations.
The familiarity.
The comfort.
The version of the relationship you wanted so badly to believe in.
And sometimes that longing can make you wonder:
“Did I make a mistake by leaving?”
But missing someone does not automatically mean the relationship was healthy.
It does not mean the boundary was wrong.
It does not mean the door needs to be reopened.
Sometimes you are simply grieving what you hoped the relationship would become.
That distinction matters.
Because there are people we can love and still know we should not return to.
There are people we can miss and still recognize that peace requires distance.
There are memories we can cherish without rebuilding the same situation.
And there are relationships we may always feel something for, even though they are no longer meant to have access to us.
You are allowed to hold two truths at the same time:
“I miss them.”
And:
“I know going back is not healthy for me.”
Both can be true.
Healing is not always forgetting.
Sometimes healing is remembering without reopening.
Sometimes healing is accepting that what you wanted from the relationship and what the relationship actually gave you were two different things.
That can be painful.
Because sometimes we are not only grieving the person.
We are grieving the future we imagined with them.
The apology we hoped would come.
The change we kept waiting for.
The version of them we believed might eventually appear.
And that grief can make the past look softer than it really was.
This is why it is important to remember the whole truth.
Not only what you miss.
Also remember what hurt.
Remember why you created the boundary.
Remember what repeatedly disturbed your peace.
Remember what made you finally say:
“I cannot keep doing this.”
Missing someone is an emotion.
Returning is a decision.
Those two things do not have to become the same thing.
TODAY’S POWER MOVE
If there is someone you miss but know you should not return to, write down two lists:
What I miss.
And:
What I must not forget.
Be honest with both.
Then ask yourself:
“Am I missing the person—or am I missing the possibility I hoped they would become?”
Let the answer bring you back to clarity.
TODAY’S POWER LINE
You can miss someone without returning to them. Longing is not always a sign to go back; sometimes it is simply part of letting go.
Honor the feeling.
Protect the lesson.
And do not trade your peace for familiarity.
