I love to exercise. I am not one of those persons who hit the gym in January and burn out by March of that same year. For me, exercise is life! I must confess that I no longer enjoy going to the gym. Maybe I simply enjoy the comfort and convenience of working out in my home gym. I am much happier doing other forms of exercise to maintain fitness and happiness. We recently conducted a study to determine the favorite forms of exercise for women in 2024. Our results were quite interesting and are as follows:

The truth is, now that I am a “woman of a particular age”, I am no longer fond of going to the gym and weight lifting. However, I am a huge fan of daily exercise. Despite the results of our poll, my exercises of choice in 2024, include pilates, running, and brisk walking. There is no such thing as, “One size fits all.” You should choose an exercise that is right for you and your schedule.

We should all want to exercise to improve our health. Weight loss or maintenance is the goal for most of us. It should not be our only focus. Even if you are not a huge fan of exercise, but you are desirous of a long, healthy life, frequent walking should be on everyone’s list.
In my earlier years, going to the gym helped me to develop a structured and reliable exercise routine. It was the “in thing” . As life went on, I realized that exercising was equally important for my mind as it was for my inches. As I grew older, my favorite forms of exercise also changed and I realized that I needed to change my daily exercise routine. It became not only about losing weight but also about feeling good mentally. It is important that we have fun with whatever form of exercise we choose.

Some of my favorite exercises include:
- Nature walks
- Pilates
- Walking on the treadmill Monday to Friday
- And knowing when to rest
